Stockport Continuing Education Service aims to inspire the people of Stockport with our high-quality courses. Our courses will help you to achieve your personal goals. We pride ourselves on our very personal and supportive approach and on being very focused on helping learners progress and achieve success.

We deliver ESOL Speaking and Listening from Pre-entry to Level 2, Functional Skills English and Maths, and Digital Skills. We have ESOL courses during the day throughout the week and on a Tuesday evening.

At Stockport College we have part-time adult ESOL courses in the daytime at our town centre campus on the A6.

Lessons are usually once or twice a week. We offer courses at all levels from Entry 1 to Level 2. Learners work towards recognised ESOL qualifications in all skills – Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing.

We also offer part-time Maths, IT (digital skills) and Living & Working in the UK courses for ESOL learners.

The college offers many other courses which students can progress to after ESOL.

Aquinas is a Catholic sixth form college based on Nangreave Road in Stockport. We are an inclusive college, with a fantastic building and excellent facilities.

We have an Adult Education Centre offering a range of academic and leisure courses for the local community.  Our experienced tutors offer a high standard of teaching and a great level of support. We are a small adult centre, fostering a real sense of community.

Our courses run on Monday and/or Tuesday evenings between 6 and 9 p.m.

We deliver adult ESOL courses. Learners can work towards Entry Level 1 and 2, in all skills – Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing.

Improve your English skills and speaking confidence with a General ESOL course from Train-To-TEFL.  We provide courses at a range of levels from Pre- Entry (Absolute Beginners) to Level 2 (Advanced). Learner can access our online, self-study resources and join additional free courses such as Conversation Clubs, Life in the UK, B1 Speaking Test Preparation, Health Literacy and Teaching Practice classes.

Study online or in a face-to-face classroom in various locations across GM including Salford, Stockport, Trafford, and Manchester, at a time that suits you.  We offer morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend sessions.

We also deliver the Level 5 Trinity CertTESOL initial teacher training programme for those interested in becoming qualified English Language teacher.
