Trafford FE College delivers part-time ESOL courses (daytime and evening) at our Stretford campus. Lessons are usually once or twice a week. We offer all levels from Pre-entry and Entry 1 up to Level 2. Learners work towards recognised ESOL qualifications in all skills – Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing. We also offer part-time Maths and IT courses for ESOL learners.

The WEA

The WEA Greater Manchester helps students develop their English skills for all aspects of life and work. Courses range from Pre-entry to Level 2, where learners can achieve City and Guilds qualifications in ESOL, maths and English. Their information, advice and guidance service is an important part of all courses to help students find further learning and progression opportunities. Classes are hosted in community centres around Trafford.

From September ESOL students at entry level 2 & 3 will be able to access ESOL for Carers courses. We also provide digital skills courses.

St John’s Centre has a range of ESOL provision with something for everyone. We are known for our warm welcome and we are many people’s first step into adult learning.

We offer a range of accredited courses (in partnership with the WEA), as well as informal conversation groups which are open to all from Pre-entry level up to Level 1.

Our accredited ESOL courses are City and Guilds Skills for Life.

We provide a range of other courses, both accredited and non-accredited, including basic skills, IT and Community Interpreting. We also offer access to our computers and help with online tasks, as well as food bank referrals and general COVID support. We are a venue for many community activities which are open to everyone.
